When a bride and groom first begin to explore options for wedding limousines, they may find that there are more choices than they thought. In the most basic sense, wedding limousines can be grouped in one of two ways: modern limousines and classic limousines.

Examples of Classic Limousines

Classic limousines include such elegant choices as the Lincoln Town Car and Cadillac limousines. The length and color will vary, but white is the most popular choice for weddings. A very luxurious example of a classic limousine is the Rolls Royce Phantom. These are less common than some of the other choices, so they will cost a bit more to rent.

Classic limousines are elegant and understated and are appropriate for any wedding.

Examples of Modern Limousines

Modern limousines can be created from just about any type of car. Some of the most popular include Hummers, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar and even busses that have been converted to accommodate large parties.

Modern limousines feature amenities one would not find on a classic limousine. This could include flat screen televisions, disco balls, even a hot tub. They come in a variety of sizes and their over-the-top style makes them most appropriate for weddings that are modern and in which the bride and groom want to pull out all of the stops.

When deciding if you should choose a modern limousine or classic limousine, there are several things to consider.

Cost

For many couples, cost is a factor when choosing between a classic limousine and a modern limousine. Generally, a classic limo is going to cost less. This is mainly due to the fact the modern limos will feature special amenities that were quite costly to install.

Also, there are more classic limos on the road, so there is less demand on the available inventory. This is another factor that causes modern limos to often cost more than classic cars.

Size

Classic limousines come in various sizes. There are cars that will seat 6 and super stretch options that will seat up to twelve or even more. If you have a very large group that you to include in your wedding limousine, you will probably need to choose a more modern car. There are modern options that will seat up to 30, and in some cases even more, passengers in one car.

This is ideal for the bride and groom who want to use their wedding limousine to transport the entire bridal party in one car.

Availability

Another consideration when choosing between a classic limousine and a modern limousine is availability. Some brides got their hearts set on a very specific modern limousine only to learn it was not available in the area in which they live.

Before deciding on a wedding limo, it is a good idea to do a quick check to be sure that a limousine rental company in your area has the car that you want. While it is sometimes possible to rent one from a distant location, there will be a hefty extra expense involved in doing so.

Amenities

One of the biggest differences between a modern limousine and a classic limousine are the available amenities.

While a classic limousine will be very elegant in its design, it will most likely be quite simple. There may be a small bar and a glass partition separating the passengers from the driver, but that may be it.

With a modern limousine, there are no limits to the amenities that may be available for your wedding limousine. Some over the top modern limousines feature blinking lights, full wet bars, intercom systems, satellite radio, video game consoles, custom upholstery, restrooms in the limousine, flat panel televisions and surround sound.

If you want much more from your wedding limousine than an elegant way to arrive, a modern limousine might be the best choice.

It is difficult to compare modern limousines versus classic limousines. In many ways that is like comparing apples and oranges. Both have their charm, and both have their place in the world of wedding limousines.

There is no right or wrong. Which type of limousine is best for you is a matter of personal choice. To really be able to compare, it is best to see several limousines in person. This will help you get a feel for whether you prefer modern or classic cars for your wedding limousine.

…And Other Ways a Limousine is Useful on Your Special Day

Planning every detail of a wedding can be a daunting task. One of those details, choosing a limousine for the wedding, can easily get lost in the shuffle of picking out dresses, flowers, venues and a thousand other things. The limousine for the wedding, however, is in some ways one of the most important decisions.

If you choose the wrong wedding limousine company, you could be left stranded on your wedding day or be forced to ride in a car that is damaged or dirty. The first step in choosing the type and number of wedding limousines that you need is deciding how you would like to use the cars.

Arriving to the Wedding

One of the most obvious uses for a wedding limousine is to transport the bride to the wedding. Some of the most beautiful wedding photos are those that show the happy bride being let out of a gorgeous limousine about to step into the church to meet her groom.

Many brides choose to take that ride with their parents. Others choose to have all of the bridesmaids arrive together. Some less traditional couples even have the entire wedding party, including the bride and groom, arrive together.

There are many styles of limousines from which to choose. Perhaps you prefer a very traditional white limousine. Some brides want something much more modern, such as a super stretch Hummer or something ultra elegant, such as a Rolls Royce limousine.

The most important thing is that the limousine that you select matches your personal taste and style. Arriving at your wedding in style means arriving in the style that most suits you.

Arriving to your wedding in style is certainly important, but there are plenty of other ways you should consider using a limousine on your wedding day.

Transportation for Special Guests

Many weddings have been delayed when a special out-of-town guest got lost on their way to the ceremony. Some brides hire more than one limousine for their wedding in order to provide pick up and drop off service for very special out-of-town guests.

This is a way not only to ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly, but also to show these guests how very special they are to you.

This allows not only the bride to arrive to the wedding in style, but her special guests as well.

Moving from Ceremony to Reception

Another bit of logistical planning when it comes to planning a wedding is figuring out how to best move the bride, groom, wedding party and special guests from the ceremony to the reception.

A wedding limousine can easily solve this problem. Even if the bride chose a traditional limousine in which to arrive at the church, she can still select a larger car to move the wedding party from the ceremony to the reception.

Some couples want to ride with their wedding parties. Others would rather send the wedding party and a few special guests in one car while riding separately in their own limousine.

Either way, choosing to move the wedding party together ensures that everyone will arrive to the reception in a timely manner without any delays or getting lost.

Departing the Wedding

Arriving at a wedding in style is certainly important. Departing your wedding in style is, to many couples, even more important. The reason is obvious. Not everyone is going to be watching as the bride or the couple arrives.

Most guests will, however, be present when the couple departs. Some choose to drive away in a personal car, but consider hiring the wedding limousine for a few extra hours in order to be able to drive away in the style of limousine that best matches your taste, style and the overall feel of your wedding.

Assisting Guests Who Should Not Drive Home

A final suggestion for ways that a wedding limousine can be useful on your big day is to provide transportation for those who may have done a bit too much celebrating. More than one wedding celebration has been marred when a tipsy guest left and was involved in an accident. While it is not really the responsibility of the bride and groom, providing a designated driver in the form of a limousine on standby is a great way to ensure that all of your guests arrive home safely.

As you can see, there are many uses to consider when it comes to wedding limousines other than just arriving to a wedding in style. Look at all of the options and then book the car or cars that will best meet all of your needs.

There are many reasons that you may be considering renting a limousine. Prom, a wedding or a special anniversary celebration are just a few of the possibilities. Some make the mistake of renting from the first company that they come across in the yellow pages. Instead, it is best if a bit more thought goes into choosing a limo for your important occasion.

Shop Around

When you begin a search for a limo for your special day, you may not know all of the styles of cars that are available. Not every limousine rental company will have a good selection. For that reason, you should visit three or four locations just to get a good sense of what is available in your area.

You should do this well in advance of the time that you need the limousine. The most popular models will book far in advance and if you wait you risk having a more limited selection.

You should make a deposit as soon as you have decided on a limousine.

Price Isn’t Everything

When shopping around, keep in mind that price is not everything. In fact, if one limousine rental company has prices that are far below others in the area, that should raise some red flags. That doesn’t mean that you should not try to get a good deal, but there are other factors that are just as important as price.

Check and Check Some More

You want to make sure that the limousines in the company’s fleet are serviced properly. Also, you should personally check that the driver who will be assigned to your event is properly licensed and insured.

It is also a good idea to check the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any unresolved consumer complaints.

Finally, ask the company if you could call some of their past customers. Ask about the service and their overall experience with the company.

Look at the Cars

Don’t judge the limousines only by pictures on a Web site. Instead, go and view the cars in person. When you choose a car and sign a contract, be sure that you have seen the exact car that you will be renting.

Do not agree to a similar car. Instead, insist on seeing the inside and outside of the exact car that you and your passengers will be riding in.

The Perfect Size

While the idea of renting a super stretch Hummer limousine for your special occasion might sound like fun, if there are only a few people in your group, such a large limousine probably isn’t the best choice.

You want there to be plenty of room for all of the passengers, but you do not want the limousine to be so big that you feel like you are in a cavern. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule such as when you have your heart set on certain amenities that are only available in the larger cars.

Read the Fine Print

Before you sign the contract and make a deposit, be sure to read the fine print. Look for wording that promises a similar car. As mentioned above, you should contract for the exact car that you see while on the lot.

Also, read what the contract says about how you will be compensated should the limousine be late and whether there are any additional cleaning or other fees that you will have to pay.

As you can see, there is more to choosing a limo for your special occasion than just finding the best looking car. You want to do all that you can to make sure the overall experience will be enjoyable. That has as much to do with the service that you will receive as it does with the car itself.

By taking a little extra time to do some research about the limo companies, you will be doing all that you can to make sure that you not only get the best car, but also the best service and deal.

It’s not every day that you have the task of choosing a limousine for an important event.

Whatever the reason that you are looking for a rental limousine, one thing is certain: it is a special occasion. When you consider some of the reasons that people rent limousines, such as proms, weddings, bachelor parties or even just a girl’s night out, it’s clear that they want the night to be special. Booking the right limousine takes more than visiting a few Web sites in search of the lowest price. Below are some tips to keep in mind when searching for a rental limousine.

The Limousine Company

The limousine rental company that you choose will have a big impact on the overall experience. Remember that booking the right limousine is only half the battle. You also have to book the right limousine company.

Staff

Whether the limousine company opened last week or has been in business for 40 years, the service should be above par. If you feel like the staff is being short or pushy, you should probably find another company. If they are treating you poorly before you have even signed a contract, the level of service will only get worse once they have your deposit and a signed contract.

You should check that the drivers are properly licensed and insured. It might seem silly to ask, but limousine drivers have been cited for not having the proper credentials.

Ask how the driver will be dressed on the night of your event. For very formal occasions, some want the driver to be in a uniform. Some limousine companies have their drivers wear suits. It is best to ask so that there will be no surprises.

Selection

Booking the right limousine involves looking at several styles. Try to find a limousine rental company that has several types of cars in their fleet. Another option is to visit several companies in order to get a look at a variety of cars.

Price

The price should not be the only factor in choosing a limousine, but it is one factor. While you obviously want the best deal, you should be wary of a company whose prices are far below those of the competition.

Do some research to get a good idea of what prices should be in your area so that you will be informed once you start visiting different rental companies.

Contract

Before signing or paying a deposit, be sure to read the fine print in the contract. Are there extra fees? Will you have the option to book extra hours if the event runs long? At what cost? Don’t sign until you know all of the details.

The Car

Obviously, booking the right limousine is largely about the car itself. If you are looking for a limousine for the first time, you might be surprised at how many styles of cars are available. Become familiar with all of the choices so that you can choose the limousine that is best for your event.

Style

If you are having an elegant, formal wedding then a super stretch Hummer with a wet bar and a stripper pole probably isn’t going to be the best fit. If, however, you are booking a limousine for a bachelor party, that Hummer might be the perfect choice.

Consider how well the limousine will fit in with the rest of the event details.

Size

Another consideration when seeking to book the right limousine is the size of the car. Once you decide how many people will be riding in the limousine, you can search for a car that will provide ample room for everyone without being excessively large.

Worse than booking a limousine that is too large is booking one that is too small. The last thing that you want is for the passengers to be cramped together.

The staff at the limousine rental company will be able to help you choose the car that is best size for your needs.

Amenities

The amenities that you want will depend largely on the event. If you are just riding to and from a wedding, you probably do not need many of the extras that are available.

On the other hand, if you are going for a night on the town with a group of friends, you may want every available option.

Booking the right limousine comes down to finding the best company with the best service that can deliver the car that best suits the needs of your event.

5. Road Safety Foundation Reports Shows Safest and Most Dangerous Roads

The most recent report by the Road Safety Foundation has thrown up some remarkable statistics, not least of which is that the West Midlands, which includes areas such as Coventry and Birmingham, is the safest region to drive in the country, with the lowest average risk rating across the County.

The report aims to demonstrate that billions of pounds could be saved by accident and emergency crews if work is undertaken to ensure the safety of British roads. Amongst the more disturbing statistics in the report is that 1 in 10 of Britain's motorways and A-roads are considered unacceptably high risk while, perhaps not so coincidentally, half of all fatal accidents occur on 10 admitted to having driven, or been a passenger in, a car that has undertaken a race on a public road.

The research appears to indicate that youngsters find it difficult to speak out when placed in a position of such risk, with 58% of the passengers interviewed saying that they did not ask the driver to slow down. The report also displayed that youngsters are killed in fatal accidents more than any other age group.

The report has caused Brake to call on the Government to introduce a Graduated Drive Licencing (GDL) scheme, similar to the one in New Zealand, that will ensure that youngsters who wish to drive learn in stages over time. On top of this the charity is also calling out for compulsory education in secondary schools to highlight the dangers of speeding and other forms of high risk driving.

Brake campaign officer Ellen Booth said: "Many young people get a thrill from driving fast with their friends in the car, but because of the way young people's brains develop, they often don't yet have the ability to control their thrill-seeking tendencies. They often feel invincible and over-estimate their power to get out of trouble. Brake is urging the government to take steps now to stop more families suffering the devastation of the death of a teenager."

3. England Cricketer Charged With Drink Driving

England Cricketer and Ashes winner Graeme Swann has been charged with drink driving after the 31 year old was stopped in the West Bridgford area on the 2nd April. Police have confirmed that he was charged last month and is expected to appear before magistrates on the 16th August.

The player, voted Cricketer of the Year by the England and Wales Cricket Board was, according to a police spokeswoman "...charged on 8 June 2010 with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level was above the limit."

2. 76 Year Old Passes Driving Test with Flying Colours

After trying a number of driving schools, 76 year old Mubarek Sear finally found one that didn't tell him he was too old to get a driving licence and, after a lot of hard work, he has now passed his driving test with flying colours.

The driving student, from Milton Keynes, was refused driving lessons from a number of schools in his local area before contacting i-Drive, a driving school in Bradford that had helped a couple of his relatives pass their tests. There he was taught by driving instructor Nafis Ishaq, who says "I feel with his hard work, his commitment and dedication he's proved everyone wrong who has said he's wasting his time and he can't do it."

Mr Sear had previously learned to drive abroad and had driven for 35 years, however his road skills were not up to snuff with current British standards, leading him to take driving lessons to correct his bad habits and pass his driving test on Tuesday.

1. Drunk Driver Dad Didn't Realise His Car Was on Fire

A father who was caught driving his children around in a vehicle that was smoking and believed to be on fire by onlookers was found to be over the drink-driving limit after a breathalyser found he had 162mcgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath.

Shocked onlookers saw Adam Whiteread drive the vehicle while seemingly oblivious to the clouds of smoke emanating from it. He only became semi-aware of his plight when a fellow motorist pulled him up and attempted to point the problem out to him. Even then he still seemed dazed and confused, leading to the woman pulling the man's children out of the vehicle for their own safety.

Astonishingly he then continued to drive on for around 70 yeards before eventually pulling over, where he was breathalysed by police.

He then went on to tell officers he had downed an entire bottle of vodka in celebration of the fact that he had gotten a job after three months of unemployment and was at a loss as to why he had chosen to drive his car while still intoxicated. He claims to have little to no memory of the incident and reportedly told police "It was a stupid thing to do"

Visit http://www.thedriving-force.co.uk for more information

Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the Mitsubishi Evo 10 will allow you to make the right decision when buying a new Mitsubishi.

One of the first things, depending on where you are in the world that may come as a surprise to you but perhaps if you’re in the UK it may not be as big a surprise as others is the modification packages available through Mitsubishi UK, mainly the Evo 10 FQ models, as in FQ320. That is, did you know that all of the Evo 10 models in the UK, as sold as a factory-official car through Mitsubishi UK, actually has a modified converted, factory ECU using EcuTeK tuning software?

That package of upgrades is on all the Evo 10s sold by Mitsubishi UK. On top of that, Mitsubishi UK then offer the Evo 10 FQ model, and the FQ model standing for a very quick car, has been available for quite some time now starting with the Evo 7 and then there’s the Evo 8 and, of course, the Evo 9 and now the Evo 10.

The FQ320 Evo 10 comes with a package of generally HKS modified components including exhaust, hard pipe inlet kit, and some other body kit styling enhancements and things like that and the tuned ECU to bring it all together to make it into a nice reliable package that comes with a full factory warranty guarantee through the Mitsubishi dealer network and of course, Mitsubishi UK.

Another good bit of information is some of this tuning and mapping data is available through the EcuTeK ECU tuning network throughout the through EcuTeK partners. The tuning software that is used by Mitsubishi UK is obviously the tuning software that is used by EcuTeK around the world.

Through your local EcuTeK tuner, you can get the factory ECU in your Mitsubishi Evo 10 converted into a fully adjustable ECU and then increase the performance however what will obviously vary is the level of warranty that you’ll get support from your local dealer.

Be very careful when you start modifying, if you choose to modify your Mitsubishi Evo 10. Because it’s a brand-new car, it uses the new Flash Can technology ECU. Gone are the days where you can do some simple modification and upgrades with hard parts and expect a noticeable improvement in performance because, really, you can’t achieve that anymore particularly with these newer models.

The Evo 10 ECU is smart enough to realize that there’s been a modification done and what it will then start doing is detuning the performance that you were looking for as a result of say, for example, a modified exhaust and ultimately you can end up with less power than what you start with, obviously, with factory-standard parts. The advantage of converting the factory ECU to an adjustable one allows that all to be brought together as a complete package, tuned and designed to work in harmony with each other.

The Evo 10 has a dramatically different engine now from the previous models. It has an all-alloy block. It runs a higher-peak boost level, in fact, a staggeringly higher-peak boost level which, again, makes it even more important to choose your modifications carefully.
Obviously, the orientation of the inlet and the exhaust manifolds on the Evo 10 is different to the Evo 9, having the inlet manifold at the front now with the exhaust manifold at the rear. Effectively, between the firewall and the engine is now where the turbo sits, which is the completely different orientation to the previous Evo 9 model. That’s going to require a whole complete new jigging up of, obviously, exhaust systems and components to suit that model.

There’s not a lot of carry over with the Evo 9 but, then again, we expected there’s a pretty good reason why Mitsubishi had done that. From impressions, it’s obviously to get the car a bit better balanced in its weight distribution because the exhaust manifold weighs more than the inlet manifold. By moving it backwards, it transfers a little bit more of that weight towards the rear of the car and in theory then obviously makes it handle better.

I’m not going to comment on the body styling or geometry setups or seating position because a lot of that these days is more so a personal choice but hopefully this information will help you if you are looking to buy a new Mitsubishi Evo.

Considerably I needed to speak about my living in the calendar year 2010 with motor vehicles. There is an alternate choice to the automobile and that is the hybrid electric car. Crossover cars are great on gas since we are in this current bad economic downturn and we are facing a economic downturn.

I believe it is always pleasant to think different and it would be a great adaption to welcome a hybrid transportation. Essentially anything that keeps your income in your wallet, and out of the filling station is a beneficial thing.

I know they in essence you have two types of gas electric hybrid cars. The two I would be concerned in would be a Ford Fusion Hybrid, and the other would be a Honda Insight. I mean you can't really make a comparison with the two cars until you take a cruise in them both. Its because they both function the equivalent way, but the Ford Fusion Hybrid. There is no comparison on which is the better gas electric hybrid car.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid is actually a zesty sedan, but it's still good on gas. Truths is that it will save you more gas, and will enable it to use electric power when the car is is not running. It also does not look that horrible, but does cost a pretty penny. It would be best to get a used Honda Insight if you can find one. Also the Honda Insight which is a small car, which you can consider compact.

A Honda Insight uses the least amount of gas as possible. In addition its size it makes it less wind resistance, which is a component in how a great deal gas you use. Now these larger vehicles right now is what everybody wants and when population wants to save their hard earned money at the pump this is the way that everybody will turn to. In our economic system hybrid automobiles are the way to go, Instead of driving the larger vehicles like the hummers, SUV's, ford explorers. Gas electric will save you more money in the long run.

The advantage of the gas electric hybrid car is that it can rectify the complaints in the both systems and balances the use of electrical energy and gasoline engine, in their ideal levels. Essentially anything that keeps your income in your wallet, and out of the filling station is a beneficial thing. I know they in essence you have two types of crossbreed cars. The best of hybrid cars are the Ford Fusion and the Honda Insight.. I mean you can't really make a comparison with the two cars until you take a cruise in them both. It's because they both function the equivalent way, but the Ford Fusion Hybrid

I believe if you are an intense individual , and the economic system is affecting you then you ought to give a hybrid automobile a test. The most beneficial options is to do some car exploring, which you might find great personal savings if you shop around. So I advise you take a gamble on one, this decision can affect how much money you can save in the future.

Gas electric hybrid car will be a thing in the near future. If the United States runs out of gas and lose its trading options.

The Pros And Cons Of ISOFIX Car Seats

With the sheer number of child and baby car seats on the market, making a decision on the right one for new parents' needs can be a daunting one at the best of times. There's a baffling amount of choice to suit most budgets so where to even start when choosing?

Well, first and foremost, buyers need to decide which securing system they want to use. There are two main choices: traditional seatbelt systems, which rely on the vehicle's three-point seatbelt to keep the seat in place in the event of a crash, or the newer ISOFIX system, which locks the seat into two anchor points connected to the car chassis, which protrude at the base of the vehicle's existing seat, and a top tether anchor point.

The main advantage to using ISOFIX seats is the ease of installation and removal of the car seat - research from the German Insurance Institute, only 30% of seatbelt-secured child seats are installed correctly, whereas the figure jumps up to 96% when using the ISOFIX system. It's not hard to see why when you try out both systems - seatbelt systems can be incredibly fiddly to secure properly, although with practice the process becomes second nature. ISOFIX seats, on the other hand, simply slot into place with a satisfying click - and most have an indicator letting the user know if they aren't installed correctly.

On the downside, ISOFIX seats are generally more expensive than the alternative. And when it comes to having a baby and stocking up all the associated essential paraphernalia, costs add up very quickly.

In addition to the seat cost, parents with vehicles which don't have the necessary anchors as standard will have to shell out further to have them retrofitted - this is easily done, however, and retrofitted anchors give the same performance as those installed at the outset. All new European car models introduced since 2006 have been required by law to come with ISOFIX anchorages as standard; all new cars produced from 2011 onwards will be subject to the same ruling.

Another factor to take into account is whether the seat is likely to spend the majority of the time in one specific vehicle or if it will move from one car to another - and potentially other cars that don't have ISOFIX anchors - on a regular basis. While ISOFIX seats can be secured via seatbelt in vehicles without the required anchors, it's obviously worth working out if paying extra for an ISOFIX seat makes sense if it's going to spend a lot of time in a vehicle without the necessary fixing points.

On the whole, ISOFIX is an ideal system for those with a high enough budget. For ease of use and overall safety, the system is second to none. That said, however, seatbelt system baby seats are still perfectly safe - provided they are installed with the necessary care every time they're used. The best course of action when unsure of which car seat system to plump for is to do your research. A great idea is to take a look at online shopping sites that carry user reviews - real opinions from real people are always invaluable.
